How come I can’t play at the game corner on Pokemon Platinum?

Whenever I go to a game machine in the Veilstone Game corner it just says: ‘It’s a game machine’ - I have a coin case, and coins. How come it doesnn’t work :@

Because of laws, in some countries they took out the gambling option in some versions of the game.

Tell me is this a European version? If so then they took out the ability to play slots for some countries.
