DSi Pokemon Platinum Wifi Help?

Posted by admin as Platinum Bars

So, I recently bought a DSi and have hooked it up to my wifi network at home (I had to use the advanced setup option while connecting my wifi stuffs). It works fine while connecting and whatnot, but I CANNOT get the GTS to work in Pokemon Platinum. It wont even connect to the Interwebs!

I’m on the blue screen with the squirrel dude and Pikachu and it asks me, "Save this Nintendo DS system’s Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection User Information to this DS card and connect to Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection?"

I say yes and it says "No compatible access point in range. Check your connection settings and try again." I haz no bars.

I go to the connection settings on the actual game menu and it says i don’t have any connections set up and whatnot. (the advanced setup connection I made is in slot 4, while this menu only has 3 slots.)
When I try to search for an access point from this menu it gives me this:
"The access point’s security settings are not supported by the Nintendo DS. For help, please visit support.nintendo.com"

^^^^(this is how i started my insane search to get wifi to work. It led me to making the advanced setup dealio)

Error code on the blue screen: 51099
Yeah thanks for the sympathy, but anyway to change my sucky router’s options and whatnot to make it compatible? I’m not looking for a "SUX!"

If it can’t be done then it can’t be done, but if there is any way to do it; please tell me.

If your router doesn’t use a WEP encryption/security code, then the DS won’t be able to access the internet. I believe the other type you might have, which the DS doesn’t support, is WPA.
